iOS vs Android
When it comes to buying a phone, the first question anybody should ask is iOS or Android. You can either buy an android phone which there a million of, or get an iPhone of some sort because iOS is exclusive to Apple products. There are many opinions on which is better but if you don't know much about the two operating systems I can show you some things each does better over each other.
2 things Android is better at:
1. Customisation
Android is the operation system for customisation. Don't like the way the apps look? You can get a skin. Or you can just simply get a new launcher. The customisation is infinite and you can truly make the phone the way you want with android. This is something you can not do with iOS phones. If you want to customise everything from how the phone works to how the phone looks on the inside, you should go for android.
2. Options
When it comes to Android there are many manufactures that make great phones. For example the top 5 in my opinion are Samsung, HTC, LG, Google (pixel and nexus), and OnePlus. There are a lot of options so for example if occasions such as this note 7 incident occurs, you have a ton of options to fall back onto. With iOS you can only get an iPhone, so if for example Apple had to kill off the iPhone 7, then the best alternative will only be the iPhone 6s. If you want to have a good selection of phones to use go for android.
2 things iOS is better at:
1. Simplicity and beauty
iOS has always been known for its simplistic design, yet still elegant. This philosophy has defiantly continued onto iOS 10. The overall look hasn't majorly changed since iOS 7 but there has been substantial improvements across the board and in terms of functionality, iOS is getting a lot more functionality rich like android. iPhones have always known to be the go to phone if you want a phone thats fast, reliable, simple, and elegant.
2. Apps
Most apps come out onto the App store before they make it to the google play store. There are many reasons for this, but one key thing to note here is that a lot of the apps interfaces are built for iOS. As in the design of the app itself is very much along the lines of iOS. This even carries onto the android platform, and the only app on my phone that doesn't have this type of interface (except google apps) is the amazon app.
Apps are also more refined and built in when it comes to iOS. Year by year Apple is opening it's operating system to app developers and this year we saw third party support for Siri and maps. As this continues, the whole operating system will have a lot more functionality and it will enrich your experience. Overall when it comes to app experience which is what we spend the most time on, then go for iOS.
So here are 2 reasons each to why they are better than each other. At the end of the day though, it is definitely personal perspective there is no denying that both operating systems are extremely mature.
