iPhone 7 initial thoughts!
I know I'm a pretty late adopter but I just got the iPhone 7 and here are my thoughts on it. I've had about 6 hours of time with my iPhone 7.
Firstly the speed. I'm coming from the iPhone 5s and to most peoples surprise the phone was actually very fast for a 3 year old phone. That all being said, the iPhone 7 as most of you know, is so fast. SO SO fast. Snapchat used to take a good 5 seconds for it to load on my 5s but it is like half a second or less with this new iPhone. Every app opens so smoothly and I know the reason why Apple's A10 fusion chip is bigger than most other manufacturers SoC's, but it is worth it. So far I haven't seen any sign of slowing down. So performance is as expected.
The screen has stayed at the same resolution as the one on the iPhone 6 but as Linus said on Linustechtips, what they don't make up for with the resolution they surely do with other aspects of the screen such as colour accuracy. It is actually noticeable. The screen is definitely a step up from what I had on my 5s and it looks really nice. Of course its not 1440p Super AMOLED Samsung panel nice but I don't watch videos on my phone I use my iPad or MacBook that are both above 1440p so that resolution is fine for me. Displaymate also said the screen on the iPhone 7 is virtually non distinguishable from a perfect screen.
The dual speakers are terrific, and they get so loud that I'm not even sure which has better speakers my 12 inch MacBook or my iPhone. It is IP67 water resistance but I haven't put it into water yet because, well, its not very recommended. It's also my first time having 3D touch and it is really useful from my perspective except it does have learning curve. The home button like most people I actually really like. I go with the first degree level because I like the subtle vibration it gives off.
I still have to use my iPhone 7 more extensively but so far, I am absolutely loving it and I would suggest to get it if you want an iPhone unless you have an iPhone 6s. Let me know your thoughts on the iPhone 7, but for now thanks for reading!
