Why mid-range phones are becoming so boring!

Most people say that the top tear smartphones have kind of plateaued but I argue that the mid range phones are even worse. I bring this up because Le Eco just released their new smartphone in the US the Le Eco Le Pro 3, which is a smartphone with a snapdragon 821, and 4 gb of ram. The reason why I say these smartphones are getting boring is because of phones like the Le pro 3.

In honesty, its not hard to make a phone like the Le Eco 3 because all the company does it buy ingredients and then design the casing and off it goes shipping. Theres no cutting edge technology here, and I understand that because after all its a $399 phone, but its just so boring.

This is what I thought of the Oneplus 3 as well. It's a lot of technology in a body thats only $400 but for me personally when I buy a smartphone I want it to have something unique to it, something others don't have at the cheaper end. Things like a curved screen, pressure sensitive screen, dual cameras (except the Honor 8 has one), stereo speakers, water proofing, and etc.

For people who just want a phone that can do the basics really well, then sure you can get a smartphone for $400 that will do that for you. Although I'll say this. I always recommend somebody to get a good smartphone for $650~$850 and stick with it for 3 years because overall your experience will be great and it will be cheaper than getting a mid range phone twice in that time.

After all, mid range phones are boring. It can be fun to see what they can do for $400 but still it is much more fun for me to see what they can do with the flagships. Every normal mid range phone with good specs but nothing else simply bores me and its only when I see flagships that push the boundaries of smartphones technology is when I really get excited.
